#EDA #TechHub Phase 2 funded! Let’s go! We are proud to announce $127m in Federal and State funding to support Elevate Quantum initiatives. Following an extensive review process, Elevate Quantum is honored to have been selected for the Tech Hubs Phase 2 implementation award by the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration. The award, totaling $40.5M, secures an additional >$80M in funding from the states of Colorado and New Mexico, and up to $1B in private capital investment – with a shot at $960M in additional federal grants through the Tech Hub program. These investments keep America and the Mountain West at the forefront of the most important race of the 21st century, creating the quantum infrastructure of tomorrow and securing our national security interests. Congratulations Sristy Agrawal and Wale lawal, Ph. D. of Mesa Quantum for winning the 8th Annual Veterans Startup Showcase presented by the Service First Foundation. This top team took home $75k in cash to accelerate their growth! The 1st Runner Up was Quickcode.ai, championed by Shannon Morales Hynds, Joe Morales, and Rebecca F. with $12.5k in cash prizes. Mesa Quantum is developing next generation chip-scale quantum sensors for advanced position, navigation and timing applications. Our initial focus is the development of chip-scale atomic clocks that serve as an alternative source of timing to GPS when GPS signals are unavailable, unreliable or insufficient for the application. CONGRATULATIONS to Mesa Quantum from Harvard University, winners of the Jacobs Rising Stars in Space Technology and Commercial Aerospace prize at the 2024 Rice Business Plan Competition put on by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship! The $25,000 cash prize was offered by the Jacobs Commercial Partnerships, Technology, and Innovation Office (CPTIO) to competing companies with the most potential to offer beneficial work related to the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Johnson Space Center's JETS II contract. This work may include applications that advance NASA’s missions, projects that align with JSC focus areas, systems that are based on NASA-licensed intellectual property, or products/services that support a low Earth orbit or lunar-based economy. Mesa Quantum's work in the development of chip-scale atomic clocks was recognized to have promise in a variety of space-based applications -- from positioning of satellite constellations in low-Earth orbit to lunar surface navigation. The prize also includes up to $25,000 of in-kind services with access to Jacobs’ subject matter experts in helping advance Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), access to Jacobs’ lab facilities, and venture development advisory support by WRX Companies co-sponsored by Jacobs JETS II teammate Intuitive Machines. Thrilled to share that Mesa Quantum has been selected as one of the top 5 finalists in the open category for Harvard President's Innovation Challenge, chosen from an impressive pool of over 330 applicants. Moreover, Wale lawal, Ph. D. pitched at the 2024 Black New Venture Competition at Harvard Business School and won first place!! Excitingly, we have also been selected to pitch at the Rice Business Plan Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious and competitive events for student-founded startups, competing for over a million dollars in prizes. Additionally, we are honored to be semi-finalists in the Veterans Business Battle at Rice University. And a special shout-out to Austin, who made his debut on stage as a finalist at the NVC deep tech competition. The last few months have been extremely busy. However, reflecting on our journey, I can't help but feel a deep sense of pride in what we've achieved together. Every challenge, every competition has been a testament to our progress. Building a startup is always a rollercoaster ride. But working with a team which equally believes in the vision - through the ups and downs - and is willing to push themselves to take on new challenges each day to make the start up work is the most rewarding part of this journey.
