A hello from Kayla Schmidt, of the University of Tampa. Here's how she's powering her future. As of today, what are your career aspirations?  After completing my bachelor's in business information technology, I plan to pursue my master’s at the University of Tampa. After graduation, I hope to secure a job working in business analytics and digital assurance. As all industries become reliant on external IT services, I think this will be an interesting role for me.  What led you to apply for the FUSE program?  I participated in the FUSE program three summers in a row. What kept me coming back was the promise of learning something new. There are not many opportunities available for students that are this unique. Students are encouraged to operate outside of their comfort zone and challenged to solve real and dynamic problems. While doing so, I consistently enhanced my networking, collaboration, critical thinking, and project management skills. The FUSE program kickstarted where I am today.    How has FUSE informed your career path?  The curriculum of FUSE, along with the connections I have made, has taught me so much about emerging technologies. Specifically, how to harness AI in an ethical manner. I found this topic so important that I have decided to pursue my senior research thesis on auditing and regulating AI entities. This compound knowledge will set me up as a competitive candidate for any job I pursue. The alumni journey highlights students who are a part of  #TeamFUSE. These profiles represent their program experience and career aspirations. https://lnkd.in/gqmU2P4t

A hello from Maram B., of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee! Here's how she's powering her future. As of today, what are your career aspirations?  Currently, I am a Web/Social Media Manager at International Travel Advisor, a company aimed at helping people navigate the world of work abroad. I work to improve the branding and user experience of our website, create and post all our social media content, and participate in user research to improve engagement.      In the future, I hope to continue to use my background in art and technology to create aesthetically pleasing designs that solve user problems. My dream position is to be a UX/UI Designer.    What led you to apply for the FUSE program?  I applied to FUSE after hearing about it in my “Introduction to Application Development” course, where we were learning Python. I thought it would be a great opportunity to expand my skills in Python, as well as gain skills in data and AI. I also wanted a chance to expand my network, and FUSE offered several ways to do so.    How has FUSE informed your career path?  FUSE provided the experience needed to land my first internship as a Website and Content Management Intern at the Smithsonian. I was also first introduced to the UX/UI field through the program, after speaking with professionals at networking events. The alumni journey highlights students who are a part of #TeamFUSE. These profiles represent their program experience and career aspirations. For this year's cohort, an application is open for upper high school and college students:https://lnkd.in/gqmU2P4t
