The 115th #NAACPConvention has concluded, marking yet another significant milestone in the NAACP's journey. Over several impactful days, we witnessed a remarkable assembly of dedicated individuals united by a common goal — to advance civil rights and social justice. This convention featured powerful discussions, thought-provoking speeches, interactive workshops, and invaluable networking opportunities, all contributing to an atmosphere of inspiration and unity. We are immensely proud of the collective efforts made, the meaningful stories shared, and the strong connections forged in Las Vegas. This event has truly been a testament to our shared commitment to benefiting our culture and community. Whether you were able to join us in person or participated from afar, our mission continues. We encourage you to visit naacp.org to remain engaged, inspired, and active as we build on this momentum in the fight for justice, equality, and true freedom for all — especially during this critical election season and beyond. It was a monumental moment at the 115th #NAACPConvention last night as we proudly presented Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. with our highest honor — the Spingarn Medal. Professor Gates' relentless dedication to uncovering and preserving African American history and culture continues to inspire us all. As the Director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University, he has made countless contributions to his field. His numerous published books, Emmy-nominated documentary films, and the groundbreaking genealogy series "Finding Your Roots" on PBS showcase his exceptional commitment to illuminating our heritage. Join us in celebrating Professor Gates for his incredible life's work. 👏🏽

One of the highlights of the #NAACPConvention is the presentation of the Medgar Wiley Evers Award of Excellence. Medgar Wiley Evers devoted his life to fighting for freedom in his state and country and exemplified what it means to serve as a leader in the NAACP. The Medgar Wiley Evers Award of Excellence is an esteemed recognition bestowed annually to one outstanding member of the NAACP national staff at the administrative, managerial, and executive level each. We are proud to present this prestigious award to three dedicated NAACP staff members who represent service, excellence and an unwavering commitment to the mission of the NAACP. Congratulations to Lewis Conaway, Maintenance Grounds tech, Tia Lawson, Senior Paralegal, and Trovon C. Williams, MBA, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for receiving this year’s Medgar Wiley Evers Award. The NAACP remains grateful for your sincere dedication and commitment to the Association.
