(Worth the read!) Each year nominations are submitted for our "Administrative Professional of Year Award" - the stories of impact shared by those nominating these dedicated professionals are inspiring and truly showcase their commitment to making a difference. Congratulations to all nominees: Kelly Andreoli, Michelle Hicks, Christopher Johnson, Kelly Jorgensen, Susan Lang, Morgan Shepperd and Kate Snow. The #wileap2024 Admin of the Year Award Winner is: Morgan Shepperd, of the Kenosha Police Department. Detective Pete Deates submitted the Nomination and had many highlights to share: 💬 "Morgan is not the typical administrative assistant and her duties expand far past that as well. She is responsible for preparing a lot of our digital evidence including interviews and body worn cameras. She is very fluent in IT so she is usually our first call for help when we have problems with anything computer related. She is always willing to help myself and the other detectives at anytime! She is also tasked with doing our crime victim compensation and providing juvenile information to the State. Morgan is the perfect person to handle the phone calls we get in the detective bureau. They range from the happy person calling to compliment someone to the enraged person who is unhappy with someone. She handles it all effortlessly. She is very influential to the new detectives in providing her help with anything they need and is also a security blanket for the veteran detectives because we all know she has the best concept of all the new technology that is just a normal part of our every day cases. We have about 35 detectives and I'm certain she has helped every single one of us in one way or another. Her amazing personality and smile makes everyone's day just a little bit better. Not only do the detectives heavily rely on Morgan, but Supervisors and our Administration does as well. Whenever they need a report or stats, she is very efficient in providing them what they need. Morgan is such a trusted member of our team! For the past few years, she has been running our department's Shop with a Cop program. She communicates with dozens of elementary schools in Kenosha and coordinates with them to bring about 50-60 children to a local store on the day of the event. She then coordinates with the officers to make sure they are and are assigned one of the children. This all takes months of planning! She has nailed it every year and makes the program a HUGE success!!" Fun fact: Morgan is the "work mom" to Iris, Kenosha PD's Electronic Storage Detection K9. Iris couldn't keep her eyes off of Morgan during her award ceremony! She sure was #proud 🐕🦺 Congratulations Morgan, and thank you for your dedication and impact! #NCJTC #AdminOfTheYearAward #KenoshaPD #lawenforcement #training #policeK9 #electronicstoragedetectionk9
