Congratulations to Amanda Stanek for receiving the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses! Patients and coworkers nominated Amanda for the life-changing and compassionate care she provides at our inpatient hospital. This is an outstanding accomplishment that truly reflects her skill and empathy while working with patients. It’s not always easy, but with seemingly endless determination, Amanda provides young patients and their families with the support they need to move forward in their mental health journey. The youth mental health crisis seems like an impossible feat to overcome. But by focusing on each patient and their needs, we CAN make a difference, especially when we come together. The Mental Health Collaboration Hub (MHCH) helps care providers do exactly that. Through the secure portal, users can connect youth in a boarding situation, such as an ER, to a treatment setting based on their unique needs. With the help of our community, we can help youth when they need it most. You might know PrairieCare as a psychiatric hospital for youth—but that’s not entirely true! We now treat anyone 35 and younger, a big milestone for mental health treatment in our community. After expanding our hospital expansion in the fall, our team embraced a new young adult population and gained the skills to evolve our care the way our community’s needs change. Today, we confidently provide care to an expanded age range into adulthood with a continuum of outpatient care to continue the healing process.
