“Tacet No More” is a podcast series that asks the questions that need to be asked and says the things that need to be said about classical music. The podcast, now in its second season, is hosted by musicians, educators, and Project 440 Board members Joseph Conyers and YUMI KENDALL. On the latest episode, "Creative Education to Shape the Future," they are joined by educators and fellow Project 440 Board members Michael O'Bryan and Frank Machos. About us
Project 440 engages, educates and inspires young musicians, providing them with the career and life skills they need to develop into tomorrow's civic-minded, entrepreneurial leaders. We foster young musicians’ passion and help them to build skills that will amplify their future success. Our core programs (Instruments for Success, Doing Good and the College Fair for Musicians) develop students’ confidence and prepare them to thrive whether they work in the music field or not. We envision a world where, through music, every young person is provided with the opportunity and tools for individual growth and community impact. The "440" refers to the 440Hz "tuning A" of an orchestra - just as the oboe leads an orchestra with the 440 hz pitch, Project 440 students are learning to be 21st Century leaders.

Students who are personally impacted by the closing of the University of the Arts likely have many questions. Along with their partner schools, many colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region and beyond are also devising plans to welcome UArts students. We have reached out to schools that have participated in our annual College Fair for Musicians and, with their support and cooperation, have compiled a still-growing list of schools that are providing resources and or a pathway for UArts students. The spring semester of our Doing Good, Instruments for Success, and Youth Advocacy Council programs concluded this week. Doing Good students presented the results of their service-learning projects at the Doing Good Graduation. Instruments for Success students participated in a mock college admissions activity, and the Youth Advocacy Council discussed the impact of AI on musicians and the music industry.
