Congratulations to our Chief Diversity Officer Jose Bodipo Memba on being recognized as one of this year’s top C-Suite Award honorees by the Sacramento Business Journal. 🏆 Each year, the Business Journal awards 20 executives in the region who stand out for their exceptional work. We couldn't agree more - Jose is leading exceptional work! As Chief Diversity Officer, Jose helps ensure that Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) is a core value in everything we do, both internally and externally. Since becoming SMUD's Chief Diversity Officer in 2022, Jose and team worked to develop SMUD's new Parent/Family Leave and Short-term Disability programs, as well as a reinvigorated Employee Resource Group (ERG) program to improve employee inclusion. He also was a key sponsor of an equity-focused scholarship with IBEW for aspiring lineworkers and also led the development of SMUD's Regional Workforce Strategy to address inclusive economic development, increasing access to thriving wage jobs for our neighbors in under-resourced communities. These are just a few examples of his important work.
