This past weekend, we were proud to be the presenting sponsor for the Spartan Race, the world’s premier obstacle course race at Blue Mountain Resort for the 3rd year. A huge shout out to our St. Luke's team who faced heat, rain and rugged terrain to participate in the Spartan Race. Spartan #StLukesProud #SpartanRace

About us
Founded in 1872, St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) is a fully integrated, regional, non-profit network of more than 20,000 employees providing services at 15 campuses and 300+ outpatient sites. With annual net revenue of $3.4 billion, the Network’s service area includes 11 counties in two states: Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Montgomery, Monroe, Schuylkill and Luzerne counties in Pennsylvania and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey. St. Luke’s hospitals operate the largest network of trauma centers in Pennsylvania, with the Bethlehem Campus being home to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. Dedicated to advancing medical education, St. Luke’s is the preeminent teaching hospital in central-eastern Pennsylvania. In partnership with Temple University, the Network established the Lehigh Valley’s first and only four-year medical school campus. It also operates the nation’s longest continuously operating School of Nursing, established in 1884, and 45 fully accredited graduate medical educational programs with more than 400 residents and fellows. In 2022, St. Luke’s, a member of the Children’s Hospital Association, opened the Lehigh Valley’s first and only free-standing facility dedicated entirely to kids. SLUHN is the only Lehigh Valley-based health care system to earn Medicare’s five-star ratings (the highest) for quality, efficiency and patient satisfaction. It is both a Leapfrog Group and Healthgrades Top Hospital and a Newsweek World’s Best Hospital. The Network’s flagship University Hospital has earned the 100 Top Major Teaching Hospital designation from Fortune/PINC AI 11 times total and eight years in a row, including in 2023 when it was identified as THE #4 TEACHING HOSPITAL IN THE COUNTRY.

St. Luke's Sacred Heart Campus recently presented a DAISY Award to Carol Natalie, RN, from the Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC). "Carol is the most kind, caring, compassionate, thoughtful and good-hearted nurse whom I was honored to be treated by. Nothing was too much for her in my care. I had a right hip replacement and was in a lot of pain for most of my stay, and getting around took a lot of time and patience. Carol was there for me every step of the way. She helped me manage my pain and every time I rang my call bell, she was there in no time to assist me. Time was not a factor for her, and she was always there to ask me what I needed and how I was feeling. I am honored to have been cared for by Carol and thankful for her skills as a nurse. I nominate her for the love of her profession. Thank you." The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. St. Luke's is proud to be a DAISY Award hospital partner, celebrating one of our nurses with this special honor. Tina and Rich Hasselbusch were grateful for the care that their son, Will, received from our St. Luke’s pediatric team in the weeks and months following his car accident. They recently provided funding to purchase specialized ventilation equipment that will be used in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Bethlehem. Tina, Rich and Will visited St. Luke’s to thank members of his care team and see the equipment in person. Pictured with the Hasselbusch family are Dr. Nicholas Grim, pediatric orthopedics; Dr. Chris Plymire, PICU medical director; Jessika Haynos, Vice President, Pediatrics; Stephanie Schweder-Kratzer and Kelly Chando, Directors of Development. #StLukesChildrensHospital #StLukesProud
