Working with Cross-Cultural Communications, LLC has been a goal of mine since I became a licensed trainer for The Community Interpreter International in 2017. The leadership at CCC are wonderful human beings who care about the future of our profession and strive to deliver high-quality interpreter training. Our first collaboration was in 2022, when I spoke to their group about humanizing the work of VRI and OPI interpreting. The recording is still available at https://lnkd.in/gJaQTmwX. Now, I'm teaming up with CCC again to talk to professionals about not only how vicarious trauma affects us, but to give professionals a space to share their stories and find companionship with others who have experienced trauma too. Thank you, CCC for having me back. I look forward to delivering a training that will inform, heal, and give coping tools for the future. Vicarious trauma is a hazard of the job for healthcare workers and community service providers. Healthcare interpreters are not immune to this risk. Throughout this four-hour workshop, interpreters will learn how vicarious trauma may have affected them. They will also learn how to recognize their default physical and emotional responses to trauma. By recognizing their default trauma responses, interpreters can begin to understand how their bodies and minds are affected by traumatic events.Marisa Rueda Will, CHI ▶ Join Marisa Rueda Will, and learn how vicarious trauma can lead to positive and productive growth in the future. ▶ Earn ATA, CCHI, IMIA, RID, and OCCI CEUs. ▶ Register by August 3, 2024, to receive $30 off! https://lnkd.in/gSugxsSH
