School districts invested nearly $500K in UVC germicidal systems to protect students from airborne diseases, utilizing federal ARP-ESSER pandemic-era funds, according to research by the Center for Green Schools. Small and medium school districts planned to direct more ESSER III spending toward facilities than their larger counterparts. https://lnkd.in/g2yaC6Kx

Hospital-acquired infections associated with antimicrobial resistance remain 13% higher than pre-pandemic levels, according to research from the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Germicidal UVC is a clinically validated technology proven to inactivate infection-causing microorganisms on HVAC surfaces and airstreams. Patients in a hospital with 100-199 beds were 1.25 times as likely to acquire an infection, while those in a hospital with > 500 beds were 2.44 times as likely to be infected. https://lnkd.in/gaW4Sdhy

Thanks to the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) for helping educate facility managers and building owners on the benefits of UV-C technology for air and surface disinfection. UV-C provides cleaner, healthier air and up to 20% HVAC energy savings. Thanks, Troy Cowan and his volunteer IUVA team. https://lnkd.in/gwQnFrZN

Since HVAC represents such a significant portion of a building’s operating budget, even the smallest energy savings can translate to sizeable figures. Imagine the energy savings potential from an HVAC fan ramping down from 60Hz to 26Hz across 30-40 AHUs due to reduced coil pressure drop and improved coil heat transfer efficiency. We recently visited a healthcare facility that made a strategic decision to enhance their cooling coil efficiency. They decided to replace a product that couldn't withstand the HVAC environment, with the reliable (in punishing HVAC environments) UV-C product from The UVC Companies, Steril-Aire and UV Resources (#RLMXtreme). Contact our local distributor to find out how effective and affordable UV-C is! #healthcare #HVAC #efficiency #UVC

Learn how to sell building ownership on the benefits of UVC for HVAC, Thursday, June 20, at 2 pm Central. Adding germicidal UV-C to AHUs improves IAQ, cuts HVAC energy use by up to 20%, restores cooling capacity and slashes maintenance costs. But how do you convince management that a tiny $0.15/cfm investment can lower energy consumption? Give us 30 minutes, and we'll show you how you can convince management to invest in UV-C. https://lnkd.in/gPbR78Gq

Lamp makers recommend removing and replacing UV lamps every 9,000 hours or 1 year (annual preventative maintenance [PM] schedule). High-output UV-C lamps can typically be replaced at less than $0.03 per CFM. For a 10,000 CFM application, that’s just $300. A small investment that can boost AHU capacity, improve efficiency, and save energy. https://lnkd.in/gx7bc2pP

UV-C light provides strong protection against airborne germs and improves air quality in healthcare settings without creating harmful byproducts. This technology is cost-effective, easy to install, and can work well with other air quality solutions like HEPA filters.
