I just wrapped up an engaging 3-day strategy session with our exceptional Operations & Maintenance team at WECS Renewables. The team flew in from various locations across the U.S. to convene at our Thousand Palms / Palm Springs HQ. Together, we jumped deep into discussions surrounding growth opportunities and risks within our industry, focusing on the next phase of expansion for WECS. Our team's dedication and inspiration never cease to amaze me. A big shoutout also to our valued customers, vendors and industry supporters for being a crucial part of our growth and journey! #team #cleanpower #teamworkisdreamwork

WECS Renewables Says Bon Voyage to the Most Interesting Man in Clean Energy! It is with mixed emotions that the WECS Renewables team announces the retirement of Carroll Skov, affectionately known as the Most Interesting Man in Clean Energy. Carroll has been an integral part of our company for an incredible 18 years. Carroll began his journey with us in our Warehouses/Shipping department, where his dedication has been invaluable. But Carroll’s story extends far beyond the walls of WECS. MASTER OF THE HIGH SEAS: Many years of Carroll’s life have been spent sailing and racing sailboats. Carroll and his wife embarked on an extraordinary year-long trip, covering 5,000 miles—including a daring journey from San Francisco to (almost) Acapulco! MOTORCYCLE RACING CHAMPION: When he wasn’t navigating the waves of the high seas, Carroll was a competitive motorcycle racer for an impressive 20 years. His trophy collection—over 50 strong—stands as a testament to his skill and determination. (And yes, he somehow survived each race to tell the tale!) ENTREPRENEUR: Before joining WECS, Carroll owned his own company, specializing in renting motor homes for 34 years. HOT RODS “GREASE-STYLE”: Carroll has built countless cars, with a special affinity for hotrods. Currently, he’s meticulously working on a 1940 Buick, powered by a 454 Chev engine. As Carroll steps into retirement, we wish him well on his next chapter. We await his planes, trains, and automobiles adventures—the next captivating chapter in the life of the Most Interesting Man in Clean Energy. Thank you, Carroll, for your unwavering dedication. Your legacy will continue to inspire us all. #retirement

In recognition of Women’s History Month, WECS would like to recognize one of our own who is making history at WECS and in the industry! From her many years in the oilfield to making the bright transition over to the clean power industry, Brittanie Rutledge worked for a multi-billion dollar EPC, building out field procurement processes and successfully managing the field procurement team. Most recently Brittanie joined WECS in September 2023 as our Global Head of Procurement.    What are your primary focuses in your position?  “In my role I really enjoy process review (actually!! :), new development of processes and implementation of these processes, as we continue to grow as a company. I love the challenge of sourcing in a programmatic manner to manage our inventory to truly support the needs of our fast-growing customers. I thoroughly enjoy the work I do to develop new programs and getting to drive change at a growing company. The job also has me connecting with a lot of incredible people, within WECS and also within our vendors and customers.” What do you love most about working at WECS? “My passion for working at WECS comes from not only working with an amazing and talented group of technical, “get it done” individuals, developing operational and supply chain solutions together - but also from being a part of a company that is a certified woman owned and run business, run by a strong and inspiring woman leader. These unique aspects made it an easy decision, when WECS reached out to me with the opportunity to join their growing team.”   What is something you are super passionate about?  “I find purpose and fulfillment in empowering women in this industry, advocating for great work environments, to bring more awareness to women-led initiatives and women-specific benefits. In my most recent role I was successful at driving improvements in this regard, including a paid parental leave for the employees that just went into effect this year. I am hoping to bring this same enthusiasm to WECS and continue to empower the women around me.”    What are your hobbies and enjoyment outside of work?  “Outside of work I really enjoying quality time and making new memories with my husband and 14 month-old-daughter. My hobbies include traveling with my family and friends and attending concerts. I also enjoy mountain biking and hiking with my two pit-bulls, Lexi and Hazlee.”    WECS is proud to feature Brittanie this month. Her journey from the oilfields to the forefront of clean energy procurement at WECS embodies the potential for corporate and industry transformation with great talent and innovative thinking, thanks to people like Brittanie. We are proud to have her here at WECS! #WomeninBusiness #WomensHistoryMonth
