With the expansion, Baird Center is officially a sensory-inclusive-certified venue. Two sensory rooms inside Baird Center are equipped with various audio and visual panels and specialized bean bags for seating. Through their specialized design, the sensory rooms can be used by people of all ages. We worked with KultureCity, an Alabama-based non-profit organization, to create an environment for people to decompress and find calm. 99% of our employees are officially trained and certified on how to communicate with and help people who are sensory sensitive, surpassing the minimum 50% requirement for certification. At the Wisconsin Center District, we are dedicated to crafting unrivaled experiences that are enjoyable and welcoming to everyone. #BairdCenter #EventSpaces #SensoryInclusive #KultureCity

Our partners at CTI are rocking it with a/v services for the RNC events taking place across our three venues 🤩
My #team and I have been producing multiple events for the #RNC the past few weeks now, but yesterday was officially Day One and the gratitude received has been very rewarding! And to add to it, we even found time to celebrate Kuda’s birthday last night! Happy birthday buddy, I’m sure this is one you will never forget! 😎🤘🏼 #ctirocks #workbirthday #eventsindustry #makinghistory #milwaukeebrathouse

It’s official, all 15,000 media bags have been bagged! The bags contain our Official Visitors Guide and Map, pen and hand sanitizer from Potawatomi Casino Hotel and Harley-Davidson Motor Company T-shirts. We hope the media love them and we can’t wait to welcome them to Milwaukee and show off the city! Big shoutout to the Wisconsin Center District for rallying team members to help us out. #Milwaukee #RNC #mediabags #RNC2024 #VisitMKE

“This opportunity truly is changing our organization and our path forward,” states Kelly Backes, board president of the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin. The Autism Society SE WI were the recipients of the first-ever Baird Center Gala Giveaway. On June 15, 2024, ASSEW hosted the Reimagine Gala in the Baird Ballroom. Along with some help from Levy Restaurants, our food and beverage partner, and CTI, our A/V team, the team at ASSEW got to work planning their biggest gala yet. Previously, ASSEW’s gala drew in about 220 people. As part of their winnings, ASSEW was able to welcome 460 guests free of charge at their gala this year, allowing for more people to attend. Hosting ASSEW was a great opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring our guests feel welcome and safe. In addition to the two permanent sensory rooms located in the north building, the gala featured a larger, custom sensory room designed specifically to meet the ASSEW’s gala needs. "The inspiration is Lake Michigan, the play of light on water and that wonderful kind of transient, ephemeral effect." - Ben Butler Upstairs on the fourth floor of Baird Center, just outside of Baird Ballroom, is Great Water. The individually carved wood pieces are configured into a jigsaw-like puzzle of panels. The panels are all made of five layers, each a different species of tree with different tones and textures, in order to create the illusion of movement and depth. Great Water is part of the We Energies Foundation Art Collection located at Baird Center. The collection has been carefully curated to portray the characteristics, culture, people and landscapes of Milwaukee and the surrounding region.
