I have so much more to reflect on from the #WomenImpactTech event. I’ve met and heard from so many incredible women in tech. Sarah Lustenberger of Google and Rachel Lo of Shopify gave an energetic and powerful keynote talk about finding the next career break, how one should take action - define your north star, invest in your brand, invest in your network, invest in yourself. Garima A., founder of a stealth #GenAI startup shared how business leaders can adopt Generative AI in their organizations. She emphasized that it is important for leaders to understand three things: 👉 The What: what problems GenAI can solve, and in which areas. 👉 The How: how does it all work; she urged leaders to think outside LLM and beyond language, think multimodal; It is important for the leader to understand enough about how the tech works in order to be able to envision what is possible or not. 👉 The Why: - why are you leveraging GenAI → Start with corporate strategy; obsess about revenue growth or efficiency gains; she urged leaders to not stop at solving one problem, but rather to build a roadmap of solutions. Shali Goradia, VP of Trust &Safety at Salesforce, moderated a panel on leading with security, safety, and sustainability while building technology. Security leaders from Walmart, Workday, and Cisco shared their insights regarding the practices that can be put in place to shift to the left. Priya Chakrabarti and SreeVidya Madhuvarsu, leaders from JPMorganChase, talked about how to use adaptive leadership tenets - Emotional intelligence, Organizational justice, Character, and Development -  to future-proof product management. Feeling motivated and grateful! Who else attended #WomenImpactTech? Let's share our takeaways in the comments! I just wrapped up the panel discussion on how companies should consider #usersafety, #datasecurity and #sustainability at Women Impact Tech and woke up to a scary breach story at AT&T. This data breach at AT&T is one of its kind with nearly $110M customers impacted. Dig deeper it looks like it is a snowflake security issue and of course there is blame game. First and foremost all companies with snowflake should do a full assessment and understand the breach and how they can avoid being next esp if you are large customer data company. Added, the breach is more of a metadata of the customer… which means customer calls and text info ( not actual content) is also breached. Again, all enterprises must assess these details and use encryption when in transit or at rest. Telco and large social media firms can be prime targets with such rich customer info. Back to my original panel convo on user data safety … I have seen recently so many large finance and retailers and some hi tech too having security attacks. Companies of this scale need to go beyond the standard security practices and processes. They should have security drills and anticipate such sophisticated hacking to occur and find ways to incorporate into their roadmap both threats detection and remediation. Love to hear your thoughts Lida Wang Yulia Efanova Shali Goradia Here to more pics from our panel session..

I want to share a story about how sometimes all we need is a little support and resilience to overcome the biggest life challenges. A couple years back, I was tasked with organizing a major company event, Women Impact Tech, on short notice. With limited time and resources, and having never ran an event - it felt like an impossible task (I had major imposter syndrome). I found myself questioning whether I could pull it off and feeling overwhelmed by the pressure. However, I realized that I had the support of my colleagues and knew that this challenge was an opportunity for growth. Here’s what helped me: Maintaining a Positive Mindset: I focused on the positives and reminded myself of my strengths and past successes in project management. This helped me stay optimistic and motivated. Seeking Support: I reached out to colleagues and mentors for advice and assistance. Their support was invaluable in helping me navigate this tough time and gather the resources I needed. Being Adaptable: I learned to be flexible and open to new solutions. I quickly adapted to changing circumstances and made swift decisions to keep things on track. Reflecting and Learning: I used this experience as a learning opportunity. I reflected on what went well and what could be improved for future events. This helped me grow both personally and professionally. Setting New Goals: My lead helped me set clear, achievable goals for each stage of the event planning process. This gave me a sense of purpose and kept me focused on moving forward. Luckily the outcome of this event was successful due to the support, dedication, and leadership I received from my team. Thank you to the team at BetterUp for making this possible.
