“Lisa was an incredible Manager and Mentor when I reported to her. In the late 1990’s, Lisa took a chance on me by hiring me for a Marketing role at SME. I had a sales background, but had a desire to obtain marketing experience. Other than a marketing degree, I had no Marketing experience. She trained me and prepared me to be successful in the role. I learned so much from her. Also, her leadership style was amazing. She treated me like a professional—even when I messed up or didn’t understand something. She had a great amount of patience and inspired me to be good at my job. She was so likable and great to work for, that I didn’t want to let her down. I credit her for providing me with so much real-world Marketing experience that I have built the foundation of my career on. From Event to Direct Marketing to Customer Segmentation to Budgeting to Creative Execution to Negotiation to B2B, I obtained experience in all of these areas! Finally, she had (and I am sure still does) a great positive attitude and approach to everything she did. She would always say “Why Not” or “How” v. “No, that will never work”. Any organization would be very fortunate to have her on their team. Thank you, Lisa! ”
