How do you become a director marketing communications?
Wanting to become a director of anything presumes you are building your skills and proving your competency as a junior person in that field. For marketing communications, this means you are developing and proving your capabilities to: - understand consumer segments and buyer personas - research buyer needs and the competitive landscape - craft messaging that aligns brand voice with solution capabilities and buyer needs/challenges - understand market and industry trends to weave them into messaging - identify and leverage influencers in the market - be able to set or accept goals and measure progress towards them - build and manage a team if the position has direct reports, and/or collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization

What does a product demonstrator do?
Here are the top 2 skills I've seen high performing product demonstrators... 1. Understanding Personas: every good product demo starts with understanding the challenges and needs of the persona who the demo is targeted to. The best product demonstrators have a keen understanding of the pain points of those buyer and user personas. 2. Crafting a "we are the only solution" story: once you understand the challenges of the persona, being able to showcase how your solution uniquely solves those problems is the heart of an effective demo. Bonus for showcasing the solution in clear, simple terms, taking the least amount of time. Extra bonus for weaving in "competitive landmines", highlighting areas where your competition isn't as good.

Technical Mentor: perform code reviews and assist junior developers understand where code can be adjusted for efficiency, security, or scalability Interface to product and project management: be able to balance and map technical decisions with product and management goals and deadlines, keeping in mind the overall business objectives without sacrificing technical goals Recruit, motivate, retain: be able to build and recruit a high performance team of developers
