Accounting Clerk

What You’ll Be Doing:

The Accounting Clerk position will be supporting the Finance Department at Hoover Treated Wood Products in Thomson, GA. This position will be relocating to our Augusta, GA site soon.

• This position performs a variety of accounting duties with an emphasis on Accounts Payable. Duties include coding and keying invoices, daily check runs, communicating with vendors, answering phone calls, collecting and distributing mail, shipping packages, filing, record keeping, data entry, photocopying, office supply maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
• Daily interaction with assigned plant office administrators, freight reconciliations, tracking all VMI for assigned plant locations.
• Monthly balancing of wood receivables, railcar tracking, and temp labor payables
• Apply knowledge of department policies and procedures and utilize a general understanding of other departments/functions when delivering messages to appropriate staff members, verifying information and resolving routine problems.
• Month end closing to include keying journal entries and providing reports to Accountants.
• Operates under moderate supervision and within the boundaries of established procedures.

• 2-5 years Accounts Payable experience required.
• Minimum high school diploma required with some college preferred.
• Professional appearance consistent with Hoover’s standards.
• Great attitude and strong work ethic.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong organizational/time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suites.
