In-person summits are a fundamental component of Astra University, our nationwide initiative to ensure that our team and our operating companies are always learning, growing and incorporating best practices into their day-to-day operations. We take advantage of online and virtual learning opportunities throughout the year, but we can’t deny the value of coming together in one place — usually at our headquarters in Boulder. We network, we learn, we share ideas. We take the lessons home, and we’re stronger for it!

Safety almost always comes down to doing the little things right, day after day. That’s why Astra Safety Director Dan Resendes awarded our Focus Four Gift Card Safety Award to USA Mechanical & Energy Services' Lucas Gorcenski. Lucas keeps his Arc Flash gloves in full sight every time he enters his van, so he always has them when he needs them. A small thing that makes a big difference!

Astra Safety Director Dan Resendes visited our partner company Texas Chiller Systems last week in San Antonio — and he liked what he saw! He spent time with TCS Safety Manager Gui Celis, who has grown the safety program significantly since stepping into the role eight months ago. Dan also presented Astra Safety Gift Card Awards to Lead Foreman @Sean Gallaway and Warehouse Manager Vincent Rodriguez after seeing each of them demonstrate leadership and excellence. The visit was a great experience and an opportunity to connect with our partners on a personal level, which is such an important part of the collaborative role we have with our partner companies.
