Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description

Summary:

The A/P Clerk will report directly to the controller. We are looking for a skilled professional to assist in the processing all invoices received for payment and in the data entry of transactions in preparation of the monthly financial statements. This position requires accuracy and the ability to perform such tasks by specific deadlines.

This position is a full-time, direct hire position located in (HQ) Columbus, Ohio.

Primary Functions:

• Coding invoices for payment.
• Entering all payable invoices into our system for payment.
• Running checks.
• Researching any past due invoices.
• Scanning all checks and invoices into our document storage software.
• Data entry of monthly transactions.
• All other duties that may arise to ensure the successful operation of the company.
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus.
• Previous accounts payable experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
• Ability to make competent use of work-related equipment and materials.
• Ability to remember information (e.g., policies, procedures) or locate resources to find information as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with others.
• Ability to work with other team members as well as independently.
• Ability to shift back and forth between two or more tasks.
• Cooperative, team-oriented, patient, calm under pressure.
