Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading Level II Trauma Center in Murrieta, CA to find a highly motivated and experienced Director of Risk Management to join their team. In this critical leadership role, you will play a central role in developing and implementing strategies to minimize risk, ensure patient safety, and protect the financial stability of the hospital.

About The Opportunity

As Director of Risk Management, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hospital's risk management program. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive risk management program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying potential risks throughout the hospital and implementing proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Investigating and analyzing incidents and accidents, identifying root causes, and developing corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Overseeing the hospital's patient safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards.
  • Managing the hospital's insurance coverage and negotiating with insurance carriers.
  • Providing risk management education and training to staff members across all departments.
  • Staying current on industry trends and best practices in risk management.
  • Preparing and presenting risk management reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certified Healthcare Risk Manager (CHRM) certification or equivalent experience (highly preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within healthcare risk management.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, risk management principles, and patient safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
