Director of Transaction Services | Venture Capital & PE-Backed Startups

A NYC-based Advisory Firm is seeking a Director of Transaction Services to own a range of client-facing responsibilities and relationships for transaction services and post-close work. In addition to supporting clients through various capital markets transactions, this newly created role will also play a key part in implementing strategies to expand upon the firm’s existing servicing offerings related to such transactions. This position will have extensive visibility to the leadership teams of both venture capital and PE firms as well as their associated portfolio companies. The role will be 2 days in office in NYC.

Responsibilities

• Assess the target’s earnings, cash-flow quality and analyze the quality of assets and liabilities being acquired or assumed.
• Effectively navigate the engagement from kick-off through completion and be the main point of contact from the client perspective
• Liaise directly the buy-side private equity and venture capital clients and target (seller) during the acquisition lifecycle.
• Coaching associates and analysts throughout the diligence process; complete deep review work and provide feedback accordingly.
• Evaluate and project the quality of working capital, indebtedness and closing cash at the time of deal close and walk through these key items with the client and target.
• Effectively walk through the deliverable with lenders, investors and underwriters
• As one of the key owners of this business line, you will help develop sales materials to market our transaction services on an ongoing basis and facilitate new client relationships with small and middle- market PE and search funds.
• Leverage personal network to generate PE and search fund client leads.
• Determine and evaluate new business and upsell opportunities by vetting potential clients.
• Focus efforts on long-term key partnerships with PE firms that can provide consistent deal flow and want to develop key diligence partnerships or enhance their QoE process.

Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required, Master’s is preferred
• CPA Required
• 8+ years of Big 4 audit or transactions experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $160,000-170,000k + Bonus (10-20% Target) + Benefits
