Summary

As the Director of Risk Management at Georgia System Operations Corporation, you will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and driving enterprise-wide risk engagement. By working closely with leaders across all levels of the organization, you will contribute to the development and execution of the Enterprise Risk Management Program. Your responsibilities will include attending business unit meetings, developing training programs, and facilitating discussions to identify and mitigate emerging risks. With a consultative approach, you will lead the evolution of risk processes, set high standards for risk management, identify risks within the organization, provide education, and create plans for mitigation.

Job Duties

  • Consult with executive management to define and refine the vision and direction of the Enterprise Risk Management Program, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the development of the Enterprise Risk Management Program and provide ongoing leadership for the evolution of risk processes, standards for risk management, risk identification, prioritization, and mitigation.
  • Foster collaboration and drive enterprise-wide risk engagement, working closely with leaders across all levels of the organization to implement and maintain risk management programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal/external partners & stakeholders to further strengthen the risk culture of the organization, including ongoing engagement in industry and discipline focused organizations and groups.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.

Experience: 10+ years of experience in risk management. Utility experience desired. Technical understanding of risk management methodologies and maturity models. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills capable of adapting messaging to various audiences clearly and succinctly from meetings to board-level presentations.

Licenses/ Certifications: Professional risk management certification/designation such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or comparable risk management certification.
