Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and proficient Grant Writer to assist our company in securing funding for agricultural initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in grant writing, with a particular emphasis on experience with USDA programs. They will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and identify potential grant opportunities, particularly within government agencies such as the USDA, as well as foundations and other relevant entities.
Develop and write grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents in collaboration with project teams.
Ensure all proposals meet the stringent compliance and reporting requirements of government and private funding sources.
Manage the grant submission process, ensuring timely submission of all required materials.
Work closely with project teams to gather necessary information and detail project plans clearly in proposals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven track record of writing successful grant proposals, particularly for USDA and other agricultural funding programs.
Strong research skills and the ability to match projects with appropriate funding.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Desired Experience:
At least three years of grant writing experience, with a focus on agriculture or related fields.
Familiarity with the operations and guidelines of the USDA and other agricultural funding agencies.
Experience in managing large grant applications and maintaining compliance with complex funding requirements.
