Role Description
Genscript is seeking an experienced and passionate Protein R&D Head to establish a new laboratory in USA and lead the construction of a mammalian expression platform, technical innovations, and process improvements. The primary goal of this position is to enhance protein expression levels while providing technical support and troubleshooting for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Setup &Team management:
Establish and manage a protein R&D laboratory in the USA, ensuring facilities and equipment meet the highest standards.
Responsible for team building and management work.
Mammalian Expression Platform Development:
Design and implement mammalian expression systems, optimizing the efficiency and yield of protein expression.
Technical Innovation and Process Improvement:
Lead technical innovation projects in protein production, applying the latest scientific research and technologies to improve existing processes.
Significantly enhance protein expression levels by optimizing expression conditions, improving media formulations, and employing advanced expression vectors.
Client Technical Support:
Provide technical support to clients, addressing various issues encountered during protein expression and production.
Ensure client needs are met promptly and effectively through in-depth technical consultation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in protein expression and production, with a strong background in mammalian cell culture and protein expression.
Experience in laboratory setup and team management, with the ability to lead and drive projects independently.
Familiarity with the latest technologies and trends in protein expression, with innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with a high level of responsibility and self-motivation.
