About The Role

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for license acquisition and renewal for health care providers throughout the states performing services for Premise Health to ensure compliance with state regulations and professional corporation needs. This is a key position to ensure enterprise ability to perform contracted scope of work.

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for all assigned health care professionals state licensing and renewals to include collection, verification and ongoing maintenance of essential documents needed to be in compliance with each state health care professional licensing. This role promotes compliance with company policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations as well as meeting or exceeding AAAHC and NCQA standards for health care professionals employed and contracted to provide services for Premise Health.

Job Requirements

Accountable for accurate, timely and complete applications, forms and documents needed to obtain and maintain health care professional licenses in multiple states and territories.

Obtains and verifies documents and applications for Health Care Professionals based on state or territory for timely acquisition and renewal of required licenses and endorsements.

Documents preparation, execution, distribution and verification of healthcare professional license(s) in identified states/territories.

Monitors application processes and timing for renewal of licenses.

Coordinates with applicants, state agencies and credentialing to ensure timely and efficient license acquisition and renewal.

Ensures timely completion of health care professional licensing activities for all assigned health care professionals.

Communicates approval of licenses to credentialing, providers and managers

Acts as liaison with Hiring Manager, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Credentialing and Health Care Professional.

Proactively reviews and monitors state requirements and regulations related to licensing.

Maintains internal Health Care Professional files including obtaining current/updated copies of essential documents, loading/scanning all documents, and updating individual files in company credentialing software/files.

Provides administrative support to Credentialing Director.

Participates in team meetings to assist and help implement ways to continually improve the credentialing process.

Identifies, corrects and communicates issues with individual or group files, processes and programs.

Researches licensing and practice needs for each state/region for various providers and specialties.

Experience

Associate/Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience in healthcare environment.

2-4 years of applicable experience in healthcare provider licensing.

Knowledge And Skills

Ability to multi-task under tight timelines with strong administrative and organizational skills to prioritize workload to meet business needs and deadlines.

Team oriented with proven experience with internal and external teams.

Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office Products and Internet navigation.
