Position Summary

Provides strategic leadership and is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related information technology (IT) disciplines/functions, complex operations or programs.

What You'll Do

This opportunity is for an IT Director (Data) focused on critical Data Platform components enabling data consolidation, curation, reporting, and analytics. This individual is expected to have an understanding of the architectural and technical aspects critical in enabling data capabilities for enterprise priorities, while demonstrating strong leadership to lead the team through a complex and evolving landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
  • Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements short-and long-term solutions to information technology (IT) needs. Defines functional strategy, ensuring alignment to overall division and corporate strategies. Drives change(s) necessary to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Controls resource and policy formation in functional areas of responsibility. Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives. Work managed is not necessarily routine, typically new, not proven or transformational in nature.
  • Manages relationship with business leaders at all levels, Agents and Policyholders. Could serve as the primary relationship manager for multiple vendors.
  • Ensures responsible functions quality and service level standards are on par with division and corporate standards.
  • Provides input to the annual budget, ensuring that performance objectives are met at the lowest cost. Continually monitors expenses throughout the year and revises expectations as needed
  • Keeps abreast of emerging trends, disciplines and technologies. Uncovers and implements strategies to compete and remain competitive in the industry.

Qualifications

Minimum Educational Requirements and Experience Equivalencies:

  • Bachelor's degree, or four-year related experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of related IT disciplines required.
  • Eight years experience in related IT function or eight years business experience and successful completion of ERIE's IT Leader Program required.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and database software required.
  • Completion of relevant designations or training preferred.
