Our client is a leader in the food ingredient industry. They are looking to add a Microbiologist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$30/hr – $35/hr Depending on relevant, recent industry experience
Position Overview
Our client is looking for a Microbiologist to join their team to support, plan, manage, and execute the daily, short-term, and long-term activities, and goals associated with microbiology lab, environmental monitoring, and product testing programs within the Quality Operations team to support the manufacturing of food ingredient products.
Responsibilities Of The Microbiologist
Microbiologist will maintain all activities associated with, the microbiology lab, environmental monitoring, sterilization, and related testing programs to support product release testing.
Support internal and external audits as the microbiology, sterilization, endotoxin bioburden, and environmental monitoring and inspection subject matter expert.
Assure that lab activities comply with the respective areas that are applicable from FDA GMP/GLP, and other national and international standards as necessary.
Analyze test results, report abnormal data, and initiate Non-Conformance (OOS, deviation) and/or CAPA as necessary, including support functions for root cause identification and follow-up on CAPA implementation.
Maintain Quality Systems as related to the QC Microbiology laboratory function, such as Deviations, CAPAs, and Change Control tasks.
Qualifications For The Microbiologist
Proficiency in microbiological techniques, data analysis, and project management is essential.
The Microbiologist must be self-directed and able to prioritize work activities.
Communicate effectively to all levels of an organization.
Experience interacting with various regulatory bodies including the FDA.
Experience with root cause analysis and driving laboratory investigations.
Prior experience with validation reports, scheduling of testing personnel, and budget management.
Must be comfortable visiting the production area and using appropriate protective equipment such as safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, hair net, and earplugs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) with a focus on science related to microbiology is required.
