Client Overview

Our client, a national food ingredient and supplement company looking for a Microbiology Lab Technician for their team to support, plan, manage, and execute the daily, short term and long-term activities, and goals associated with microbiology lab, environmental monitoring, and product testing programs within the team to support the manufacturing of food ingredient products.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$19/hr

Position Overview

Microbiology Lab Technician will assist with all activities associated with microbiology lab, environmental monitoring, sterilization, and related testing programs to support product release testing. Due to the production schedule, this team works Tuesday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm and Saturdays 6am-12noon.

Responsibilities Of The Microbiology Lab Technician

  • Support internal and external audits as the microbiology, sterilization, endotoxin bioburden, and environmental monitoring and inspection subject matter expert
  • Conduct Challenge Tests, Shelf Life Studies, Microbial Isolation and Identification, along with Quantitative and Qualitative analysis
  • Assure that lab activities are in compliance with the respective areas that are applicable from FDA, GMP/GLP, and other national and international standards as necessary
  • Manage equipment cleanliness, calibration, standardization, and other routine maintenance to ensure proper function for testing

Qualifications For The Microbiology Lab Technician

  • Must be self-directed, able to prioritize work activities, and communicate effectively to all levels of an organization
  • Must be able to work Tuesday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm and Saturdays 6am-12noon
  • 0 to 2 years of industry experience post graduation
  • Internships/Co-ops/Independent research projects is highly desired

Education Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Biology, Biological Sciences, Microbiology or related majors is required
