The City Of Waco Seeks
A Parks Crew Leader with experience in landscaping, grounds keeping, and mechanical/ small engine repair (mowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc) to lead and coordinate work crews that maintain City Parks, grounds, and equipment.
Required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Three years of experience in landscaping and grounds keeping work, preferably with the City of Waco
Valid Texas Driver's License
Position Overview
Under basic supervision, leads and coordinates work crews cleaning and maintaining City parks, grounds and equipment; reviews and prioritizes work orders, assigns work, verifies work completion.
Primary Duties
Leads work crews in the maintenance and repair of City parks and facilities; works independently and make appropriate decisions based on work experience; duties may vary according to job assignment.
Assigns work, leads work crews and trains workers in the proper use of equipment and tools; assures appropriate tools, equipment and materials are at the job site; monitors work site to assure that safety rules and regulations are followed and that the work zone and all equipment are in safe operating condition.
Inspects park grounds and facilities and verifies quality of work performed; recognizes, avoids and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries; maintains records of work performed; inspects and maintains tools and equipment; performs duties of Parks Maintenance Worker as needed.
May be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
