Property Manager- Kansas City, MO - Remote | WFH

Job Purpose/Summary

As a Property Manager with our team, you'll oversee a diverse portfolio of investment properties, both commercial and residential. Your responsibilities will include managing budgets, directing staff, handling tenant relations, rent collection, emergencies, move-ins, move-outs, and tenant screening. A strong understanding of fair housing laws, lease terminations, and eviction processes is essential.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of 250-350 properties, considering property quality, unit density, and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate within a team environment alongside an assistant Property Manager and other team members.
  • Focus on maximizing client returns while ensuring company revenue and margin objectives are met.
  • Oversee property maintenance and repairs.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for resident issues.
  • Manage tenant collections, lease renewals, and owner receivables.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Real Estate License preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in property management.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Rent Manager, Propertyware, Showmojo).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering superior customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, exercise judgment, and take initiative.
  • Team player with a proactive approach, assertiveness, accountability, and a positive attitude.

Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may involve supervisory duties based on divisional needs, including budget oversight and possibly hiring/firing responsibilities within the Group.

Physical/Environmental Demands

The role involves regular activities such as standing, sitting, talking, and using a computer and telephone. Light to moderate lifting may be required.
