Current license (Mississippi Endorsement Code 213)
Masters degree in psychometry, psychology, educational psychology, or related discipline
Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license
Prior teaching experience desired
Proficient in the use of voicemail and e mail
REPORTS TO: Exceptional Services Director
JOB SUMMARY: To evaluate students with exceptional abilities for appropriate educational placement.
Essential Functions
Plans, conducts, and interprets assessment of mental abilities and academic achievement for students in accordance with accepted practices in psychoeducational evaluation.
Implements Mississippi Department of Education guidelines for gifted assessment.
Keeps continually informed regarding current research in psychoeducational assessment, development, and practice.
Provides school personnel with specific informational and evaluative feedback in the form of verbal communication and written reports, including assessment team reports.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Follows district fixed asset procedures.
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school/office climate.
Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, parents, students and administration.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
