Job Description

The Sr. Director of Network Business Operations & Program Management is responsible for setting the direction for network program management goals aligned to Network Management priorities and success criteria. Leads and directs a team of Sr., Manager's and Sr. Consultants accountable for executing the day-to-day operations which includes the analysis of the business needs. Determines how operations should be developed or altered to manage and meet the desired business outcome in the most efficient and effective manner. Leads the development and ongoing maintenance of documented Network Programs in a manner that maximizes synergies across the entities to drive long term operational sustainability for the business; this includes BCBSA, Commercial Markets, Medicare Markets and New Business Markets and Vendor Mgt. The Sr. Director of Business Operations and Program Management evaluates operations to ensure the desired business results are effectively delivered in a manner that complies with corporate policy, regulatory standards, BCBSA requirements, and accrediting body criteria. The Sr. Director of Business Operations and Program Management requires frequent collaboration across all business divisions to execute agreed upon strategies or programs.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Sets direction for program management goals that are aligned to executive priorities and success criteria
  • Drives collaboration across business divisions to execute strategies and programs
  • Leads the day-to-day operations which includes the analysis of the business needs and determines how operations should be developed or altered to manage and meet the business needs in the most efficient and effective manner
  • Measure and report on efficiency of systems and process utilized to manage business processes, systems and tools. Proficient subject matter knowledge in Network Contracting, Network Build/Development and Provider Reimbursement and payment
  • Collaborates frequently across all business divisions to execute business strategies or new or revised programs requiring network business operations and Program support
  • Effectively leverage people, process and technology to drive and enable desired business results
  • Develops and attains shared goals with the functional business units and IT to create partnerships and joint accountability
  • Directs strategic capability investments that progress business strategy and enterprise direction
  • Lead the development of business requirements necessary to enable the desired operational outcome to achieve the business objectives
  • Ensures that capabilities developed to enable the business objectives include the necessary technology to deliver automated governance and controllership that yield a high degree of accuracy
  • Understands the industry and its dynamics as it pertains to business units they support and serves as a liaison between the Senior Business leaders/experts and enabling technical team to ensure business vision and priorities are understood and programs are effectively implemented

Job Requirements

  • Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years related work experience
  • 5+ years direct supervisory/management experience
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities; proven organizational skills and detail oriented with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that scale to all levels of the organization
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
  • Demonstrated experience with concepts, theories and processes of Project Management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people, financial resources and information
  • Strong demonstrated ability to establish, implement and manage effective work processes and organizational structure
  • Must have strong demonstrated ability to provide input and influence into the business plans and strategies.
  • Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle
  • Strong technical and provider data analytical skills

Preferred

  • Experience managing large scale enterprise projects
  • Leadership experience in business operations

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.

Annualized Salary Range: $144,000 - $234,000

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $144,000 - $180,000

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
