We are incredibly proud of our team members who bravely share their personal journeys to inspire and support others. Recently, Michael Oak's one of our Clinical Outreach Representatives had the chance to talk with James Rich from Buena Vista Health & Recovery Centers about his journey through addiction and recovery. This conversation is a powerful reminder that mental health and substance abuse issues can strike anyone. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. We are truly grateful to have Michael on our team, where his unique experiences position him to support others on their journey to mental health and lasting healing.
Clinical Outreach for AMFM Healthcare | Expanding Mental Health Services Across Arizona | Mental Health Advocate
I had the chance to talk with James Rich from Buena Vista Health & Recovery Centers about my journey through addiction and recovery. Growing up in a loving, middle-class family in Iowa, I didn't think I could be affected by addiction. But life had other plans. Mental health and substance abuse issues can strike anyone. It doesn't make you weak—seeking help is a sign of strength. Today, I’m truly blessed to work at AMFM Healthcare, where my own struggles with addiction and recovery uniquely position me to support others on their journey to mental health and recovery. Today, we’re challenging a common misconception about residential treatment for teens: that it confines them indoors and focuses solely on traditional therapy. At our teen residential treatment program, Mission Prep, we are pioneering a new, holistic approach to teen wellness. Our program transcends the conventional four walls of therapy by incorporating expressive, movement-oriented activities designed to ignite the spirit and energize the mind. From leisurely walks to special outings for boba or smoothies, we prioritize keeping teens actively engaged and connected to the vibrant world around them. This summer, our commitment is to help teens thrive through dynamic activities that foster resilience and well-being. Discover more about our innovative approach from Aja Chavez, our National Executive Director of Mission Prep, in the video below.
