Coming off a longtime bucket list trip to Grand Cayman and wanted to share a personal highlight that's relevant here. Stingray City. A place with no law & order, yet where hundreds of wild stingrays and boatloads of humans decide to amicably interact daily. A place where consistent communication & mutually beneficial interactions over years have transformed a seemingly arbitrary, borderless sandbar in the middle of the ocean into an established, trusted forum for unique cross species collaboration. Stingray City is not The Continental. It’s Asgard... a people, not a place (Ya I scrolled John Wick & Thor on the plane) Ironspring Ventures aspires to be this Trusted Forum for heavy industry collaboration. In 2019, we hosted the inaugural Ironspring Venture's Annual Summit. For the first time since, I decided to watch the recording and nearly shared it here. But reserving release until the decade milestone #remindme. Hoping by then the discussion (i.e. challenges) won't seem so eerily similar! At the kickoff event, the room was filled with innovation leaders across heavy industry. Years in the making. There was a certain gravity, coiled energy, urgency, and clarity to do something new. The foundational network that trusted Ironspring Ventures to steward a simple shared vision: partner, invest and help world-class founders successfully advance our legacy, industrial supply chain complex. We recently wrapped up our AGM 2024 and best one yet with an amazing showing from our investors, portfolio company founders, and expanding industry partner network. Truly appreciative of the continued trust & partnership, which now importantly extends to many incredible founders, 15 of which joined us in person for 1.5 days.
