Since I can’t seem to shake the energy industry. 😂 A new series: What I learned about energy this week. 1) EV adoption is happening so quickly in some cities where charging infrastructure hasn’t caught up that ‘sidewalk charging’ is a temporary, but creative solution. 2) Virtual power plants (VPPs) are a thing and the concept is fascinating. VPPs can be as simple as a group of households with smart thermostats, the only requirement is power from ‘the system’ is available to the grid on demand.

Utilities are starting to implement Virtual Power Plant (#vpp) that can interact and control Distributed Energy Resources (DER, think of battery packs, electric car/bus chargers, solar panels, thermostats and heat pumps).
