See you next year! 🦾 #GoogleIOConnect #GoogleAI #KI #Gemini #Innovation #Zukunftx`x

I am just coming back from a truly inspiring #GoogleIOConnect 🚀 where I had the pleasure to deliver our keynote together with Jeanine Banks, Christina Decker, Tim Messerschmidt, Paul Kinlan, and Abdelfettah SGHIOUAR. Over 1300 developers from over 100 countries came together in Berlin to experience and discuss the latest innovations in the field of #AI. My conclusion: #GenerativeAI will change the future of technology as we know it and I am proud that Google is continuously investing in open exchange, partnerships and research to further promote the potential of #GenerativeAI and, above all, to do this responsibly and to make it accessible to everyone. My highlights of this year's conference: ➤ Jeanine Banks's update on the progress in #Gemini, Google's multimodal AI models that open up even more possibilities for developers. My recommendation: Experiment with our most powerful Gemini models in #GoogleAIStudio (ai.google.dev/aistudio) and integrate the #GeminiAPI into your own applications. In collaboration with Udacity, you can also register for a free course on the Gemini API at goo.gle/udacity! Further training for AI beginners is also available here: https://lnkd.in/dkrMmN_w ➤ In a conversation with Christina Decker from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, it became clear: Cooperation between politics, companies and developers is more important than ever to ensure the responsible development of AI and to use new technologies for the benefit of society. Thank you Christina Decker for this exciting discussion! 💬 ➤ Now available: #Gemma2, the next generation of Google's open source AI models. All information about the launch can be found in the blog post 👉 https://lnkd.in/dXT4VRzY ➤ Digital Sovereignty is not nice to have, but something EMEA cares a lot about. We have solutions out there and we keep investing in the region in our Sovereign Cloud solutions and also in infrastructure, such as the new sub sea fiber-optic cable between Africa and Australia! ➤ And I can just repeat what I said in the keynote, I experienced the beginnings of the #WorldWideWeb in Silicon Valley and everyone at the time felt that something big is happening and it changed the world of technology as we know it. And here we are again, 30 years later and I have the same sense, something really big is happening with #genAI and it will yet again change the world of technology as we know it! I/O Connect was also a great opportunity to network and exchange ideas with the Google Developer Experts. The exciting discussions, workshops and demos in Berlin clearly show that the #EMEA region is an important driver for AI innovation. I am super inspired by the energy and spirit of innovation that was felt at the conference. Thanks everyone 🙏 for making this happen, and very special thanks to Leticia Lago de Lanzós Bunzl and Neta Dumai, you're rock stars! See you all next year! 🦾

We actually have an engineering team at Google Munich that works on #GarbageCollection for the #V8 JavaScript Engine in Google Chrome and if you use Google Chrome or a Chromium based browser, you all benefit from it every day...! But today, as part of our global initiative #GoogleServe 🍃, a team of more than 150 dedicated Munich Googlers (or #Mooglers) actually went out on the beautiful Flaucher beaches of the Isar river and the surrounding woods together with our partner rehab republic e.V. to collect #RealGarbage. Mostly #MicroTrash actually, which often gets overlooked by the typical garbage collection procedures and then it is in the ground for years or decades. So we equipped everyone with gloves and wooden tongs to pick up bottle caps and cigarette butts, etc. We also found and collected a number of other curious stuff, even an unopened bottle of beer 🤔 and a discarded electric scooter 🛴, so in addition to all the micro trash, we can really be proud of the team work effort 💚. And afterwards we went together to the #FlaucherBiergarten for a kühles Helles 🍻, almost as good as our own gBräu ;-) A huge thanks to everyone for joining and a very special thanks and huge kudos to our dream organizing team Julius Kammerl, Vangelis Parasidis, Zelda Burger and Harald Viehweger (also for the bridge photo). And of course big thanks to rehab republic e.V. for being a great partner again this year! #Sustainability #GoogleServe #GiveBack #Community #GoogleLife

Hier kommen meine persönlichen Top-Tipps für effektives Prompting: 🎯 Sei zielgerichtet: Sag Gemini genau, was du brauchst ("Fasse zusammen," "Schreibe," "Analysiere"). + [Kontext] Worum geht's? + [Aufgabe] Was soll die KI tun?

Thanks so much Stefan Wagner, Christian Klein, Thomas Saueressig and the entire SAP team for inviting me to the opening of your beautiful new SAP Labs Munich Campus at the Technical University of Munich and welcome to the hood! It was another inspiring event with a lot of praise (of course all very much founded in facts and science) from the Bavarian Minister for Science and Arts Markus Blume, and Thomas F. Hofmann or was it #WolfgangHerrmann (sorry, insider joke) as well as many other distinct guests. I wish you all the very best, lots of innovation and creativity at your new wonderful, inspiring and open facility and I am very much looking forward to continue driving innovation and AI from Bavaria and for the world together. The high tech environment here could not be better!

On Monday evening, I had the honor to represent Google at the exclusive #WelcomeToBavaria reception for the high tech and science community in Bavaria. The reception was in the beautiful Munich Residence hosted by the Bavarian Minister President Dr. Markus Söder, Bayerische Staatskanzlei, and the Bavarian State Minister for Science and Arts Markus Blume. Thank you both for this great event and for bringing us together. We received exciting insights from Dr. Söder and Markus Blume about the importance of the tech scene here in the #IsarValley and it is truly impressive to see the investments of the Free State of Bavaria. Google very much feels #dahoim already for over 18 years, we are doing engineering and product development for our billions of users right out of our Munich Engineering Center at the "Hackerbridge" and we are also planning further investments e.g. with g.co/arnulfpost. At a panel discussion with other Munich tech representatives, we talked about the attractiveness of Munich and Bavaria as a tech location, and while we may not always agree, I think this time we all were aligned that Bavaria is the place to be when it comes to tech. Thanks Agnes Heftberger, Carlo Ruiz, Rocco Bräuniger, Tino Krause and Petra Bindl for this great panel. For Google, the environment created by the Bavarian #HightechAgenda and our close partnership as partner of excellence with the Technical University of Munich are some of the decisive factors of course together with a great quality of life. “Progress is part of Bavaria's DNA” is what Markus Blume said, and this is also very true for Google, Progress and innovation is what Google is build on. And as I said in the panel, the view of the Bavarian Alps right from our offices for me is "the real Mountain View" ;-) And a big shout out and a big thank you to all our Munich Googlers for joining and for cheering! #GoogleMunich #TechInBavaria #WelcomeToBavaria

Always good to be back at the mothership. I just came out of a three day Google Cloud Security strategy summit where we discussed our product plans and roadmaps for our #Cybersecurity, #Sovereignty and of course #AI products and I am uncomfortably excited about what we have coming and I am looking forward to working with our partners, customers, and our product and engineering teams to bring all this to life! On my way back now to Munich, right in time for the opening game of the #Euro24.
