The event was a fantastic deep dive into groundbreaking research and panel discussions featuring distinguished experts:   🎙 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲, Bavarian Minister of State for Science and the Arts 🎙 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸, Professor at LMU Munich 🎙 Dr. Tina Kluewer, Head of "Research for Technological Sovereignty and Innovation" at Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung 🎙 Dr. Andreas Liebl, Managing Director of appliedAI Initiative GmbH 🎙 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, Director at MCML and Professor at TUM   𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆? We're not in a race to build the best Large Language Model (LLM), but in a marathon of cultural change, application development, and efficiency improvement. Our mission is to prepare for technological advances, harness efficiencies in #AI applications, leverage our talent pool and data resources, and carve out our niches in impactful AI-enabled industries.   𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱: 🔍 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 Markus Blume stressed the need for more ambition, capital, and a "think big" mindset in our industrial and political landscape. He envisions an "Airbus model" for AI, reducing inefficiencies and optimizing data usage.   🔍 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 Barbara Plank highlighted the dominance of large languages like English and German in AI. Developing models for smaller languages, such as through Bavaria's "Bayern GPT," is both a challenge and an opportunity, preserving endangered and ancient languages.   🔍 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Tina Klüwer emphasized the strength of our local talent and education systems. Beyond the race for "big" AI models, we should focus on related technologies like neuromorphic chips and quantum tech, prioritizing data efficiency and computational problem-solving.   🔍 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 Andreas Liebl underscored the importance of practical training for local managers, industries, and decision-makers to maximize the potential of AI applications. Successful AI tool implementation requires extensive training.   🔍 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝘀. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 Daniel Cremers pointed out that while machines excel at specific tasks, they struggle with generalization. AI won't replace humans, but it will replace those who fail to use it. ⭐ 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗜: Technology has consistently augmented human capabilities, as Björn Ommer discussed. AI makes personal computing more accessible by understanding human language, reducing the need for coding skills. This shift democratizes innovation, offering SMEs a significant opportunity to enhance productivity and reduce skill-related inequalities. However, unexpected challenges like increased mental load also surfaced. One participant shared, "AI takes over repetitive tasks, leaving me with only the harder ones. With all generations spending at least an hour a day on social media, it's a prime platform for engagement and growth... when used correctly. At the Innovationscafé, hosted by the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship gGmbH, Pheline Huber, leveraging her experience from working at marketing agencies, and Leo H., founder of Skinmate and successful influencer known as Rundumhaut on Instagram and TikTok, shared valuable insights on harnessing the power of social media. Here are some key takeaways our colleague Salomé Rocheteau summarized for early-stage startups beginning their social media journey: 🎯 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 Know your target audience and understand how they use social media. Focus on the platforms where your audience is active and tailor your content to what they want to watch. The goal is to curate an audience that will also be interested in your product. 🙋 𝗕𝗲 𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 People won’t empathize with a faceless brand. Be honest and personal in your videos. Relatability is key! 🤳 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 Instead of creating ads, centre the video around the audience and not the product. The goal is to create value and make them curious about your product. Interact as much as possible with your audience and the platform. Stitch and comment on videos to gain visibility and engage with trending topics – even those that don’t perfectly match your niche. Think of social media as a search engine and include keywords in your captions and subtitles and makes sure to edit any text within the app so the algorithm picks up on it. People’s attention span is very short: start with a catchy hook and use a fast-paced editing style to keep their attention. ⌛ 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Becoming an internet sensation doesn’t happen overnight. Gaining traction takes time and persistence. Remember, some of it is just luck 🍀.
