🔥 Here’s a hot take:  National Football League (NFL) player Harrison Butker was (in part) right in his controversial Benedictine College graduation speech. He said: “For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.” And you know what? The truth is that we have been lied to - diabolically lied to. By our employers, by our government and by societal messages. Not the lies Harrison claimed - saying that no career could ever make us happier than claiming the titles of mother, wife and homemaker. No, we were lied to about EVERYTHING ELSE. We were lied to that if we worked hard and went to college, we would have the very same opportunities as the boys we grew up with. But we don’t. I paid the same law school tuition as my male peers, but never stood to earn the same salary or hold the same titles they would. Every statistic will tell you that as an attorney, I earned at least 16 percent less in salary for equal work - and that even though women have been over half of law school graduates for decades, we’re still only 25 percent of law firm partners. Women represent roughly one in 4 C-Suite leaders, and women of color just one in 16. If you look at these numbers and still claim that we have the same opportunity as our male colleagues to ascend to the top, you can’t escape the truth that you’re also then saying that we’re just not as good. And we know that’s not true. It’s bias. We still haven’t had a woman in the oval office. We’re the only industrialized nation in the world without mandated paid leave for mothers. And don’t get me started on the maternal wall in America, where full time employed mothers make 71 cents for every dollar made by a father. So, yes. We’ve absolutely been told “diabolical lies.” The question remains, for me, is this: When will it ever change? And how? I don’t know. But I have four little girls who will grow up in a world with men like Harrison on the stage and in the C-Suite, so I’ve got a lot of work to do. #harrisonbutker #genderpaygap #workingwomen #workingmoms

Life is a journey. We often refer to difficult times, or periods of growth, as a season of our life. But how often do we talk about the preseason? The preseason entails everything that we do on a daily basis to help our lives flow smoothly. Developing an ABA clinic requires a preseason. It’s not enough to have the financial support. It’s not enough to secure a lease. It’s not enough to buy a few toys and throw them in a room. It’s not enough to hire RBT’s. We’re dealing with real lives, in real time. We have to work hard during the preseason in efforts of ensuring a smooth ride for everyone involved. We’ve been building Limitless for almost one year (with the assistance of mentors) to ensure we cross our t’s and dot our i’s. We’ve given it our all to combine compassion, clinical quality, and business. When our doors open, when your child is well cared for, when our staff is thriving… you’ll know we worked harder in preseason.

Surprisingly, it was revealed that Oprah had silently sponsored 65,000 underprivileged individuals for 25 years. At the event, many beneficiaries attended, with 450 holding candles. Remarkably, five Harvard professors presented a moving sermon, acknowledging Oprah's profound impact with the words, “If it were not for Oprah, we would now be in a different place than this...” The story raises the question: Can one person truly transform the lives of 65,000 individuals, all while maintaining anonymity? It underscores the profound influence individuals can have on others without seeking recognition. Humanity, as Socrates noted, is not merely a concept but a level of compassion and generosity that exceptional individuals like Oprah Winfrey exemplify.
