#LAX expands digital marketplace with integration of Airport Dimensions customer engagement platform In partnership with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports, Los Angeles International Airport - LAX has expanded its self-service #hospitality platform powered by Servy to include Airport Dimensions’ revenue growth and customer engagement platform #Connecta. Connecta has been designed to track and analyze behaviors and engage #consumers with real-time loyalty and marketing incentives driving incremental revenue to #airports and their concession partners. The LAX #OrderNow digital marketplace, powered by #Servy, has been in place since 2020, enabling travelers and airport employees to discover F&B offerings and #retail outlets within the airport, order and pay with ease, and collect from the outlets by bypassing the line with express pickup. The Connecta platform brings together airport F&B, retail and services, including Servy, all under one umbrella. This singular point of engagement is intended to enhance the overall #travelerexperience, gain deeper insights into consumer behaviors and boost spending throughout the journey. Jeff Livney, chief experience officer at Servy, said, “Through this expansion to our LAX Order Now program, Servy is continuing to push the capabilities of airport digital commerce, bringing various platforms and partners together to drive a better, more personalized guest experience, while driving commercial results for our airport authority, developer and concessions partners.” https://lnkd.in/eSZUkT2N

"The check-in kiosk is not dead!" The statement above is a bold one, but Valour Consultancy is certainly not the first to question the viability of check-in kiosks. As early as 2012, there was talk of them being under threat from online check-in; this being in response to Singapore Airlines' removal of 24 units from Changi the year prior. So why are we raising this point now? In recent years, we have seen air passenger carriers, such as Alaska Airlines and Qantas, pushing the adoption of online check-in, whilst replacing traditional check-in kiosks with bag tagging units. And, in our own research as part of the upcoming report, 'The Seamless Passenger Journey in Smart Airports – 2023', we will discuss how, when available, online check-in is by far the most preferred method for customers. Read on, as our Market Research Analyst, Blane Goddard, predicts what the future may hold for checking in at airports across the world >> https://lnkd.in/eHbe_NMx #Airports #SmartAirports #SeamlessPassengerJourney

The discussion about kiosks being dead actually goes back much further than 2012. In 2008 Future Travel Experience conference in Las Vegas put the provoking slogan "Death of the kiosk" out. https://lnkd.in/efunuD5a Eventually, there is always some sort of customer touchpoint required for various transactions. You cannot expect that every passenger is tech savvy enough or willing to use their roaming data to use the mobile phone. Finally many airlines are still way behind on offering good services especially in the irregularity handling scenario to passengers. And as you point out - as long as there are physical bag tags required, kiosks will stick around. This may be one day overcome by end-to-end baggage transport from your home to your hotel and vice versa. Look forward to where things will be going. #airports #checkin #innovation #passengerexperience #kiosks #eservices

believes in inspiring people to translate their natural intuition for good experiences to create better outcomes and experiences for their customers.
Good CX in the real world.... Traveling the Tube in London is a breeze for a lot of reasons: credit card taps for gate entry/exit and good signage, for example. Another reason is that foot traffic is well orchestrated, especially on escalators. These simple signs help - but they only matter if people heed them. Unlike train systems in many parts of the US, Londoners actually DO stand on the right, allowing people in haste to pass easily on the left. You simply do not find people blocking the left side inadvertently or on purpose. I don't know what magic dust London has sprinkled on its population to make this a cultural norm, but I'd love to bottle it up and bring it over the pond stateside. Sometimes exceptional CX is as simple as creating and encouraging norms and patterns for people to follow. ------------------- Being observant about good (or not so good) CX in everyday life makes you more attuned to creating good CX in your professional life. What notable experiences have you had lately? #everydayCX #cx #hcd
