Great 5-min article from GreenBiz Group about how Patagonia remain trailblazers in the sustainability world, yet still remain profitable. Most companies look at Patagonia's story and model, throw up their hands, and declare "Well, that wouldn't work for us, we're not Patagonia" but the fact is Patagonia is the same as 99% of other businesses out there. How do they do it? 3 Takeaways: -They don't make or sell low-quality products; their business depends on a level of dependability and sustainability -They sweat the small stuff AND the big stuff; even small, incremental changes have an impact, and get employees bought in to the bigger issues at hand -They don't make excuses; there's always a reason not to do something, but they find a way to make it work if it makes sense Check out the article below 👇 #sustainablebusiness #sustainability #climateaction Guy Carteciano Carly DiVito Lyndsay Deckert Ted Dhillon Fahad Shahab Sara Stojanovic Armaan C. A great take this week from GreenBiz Group's head of corporate sustainability Dylan Siegler on the "sorry, we're not Patagonia"-ism one hears in the space. Check out Dylan's, and director of Patagonia philosophy Vincent Stanley's, view on what makes the company different, and why its methods seem so hard for other businesses to emulate. #sustainability #esg #sustainablebusiness

Chief Executive Officer at Natroceutics | Delivering you the best available nature-based therapeutics the world’s leading experts have to offer
Thinking about how brands can shape our perspectives, Patagonia really stands out. Their commitment to sustainability isn't just a business move; it's a reminder that aligning values with how we do business matters. Here is a favourite read of theirs. I have to thank my good friend Jean-Paul Bolus for introducing me all those years back. Patagonia made me realise that in our own businesses, we need to aim for better every day. We are far from perfect, but that shouldn’t be an excuse to make no attempt to improve or contribute towards a solution. Patagonia's journey shows how a brand can make a real impact with a genuine commitment to environmental responsibility. It's a reminder that every choice, no matter how small, adds up and makes a difference.

Pioneering Sustainability: The Patagonia Way! 👏 In a world where sustainability is crucial, it's time to take inspiration from the trailblazers and champions of change. Patagonia, a true leader in sustainability, has set the bar high with their unwavering commitment to the planet and people. Now, it's your turn to elevate your sustainability efforts and make a difference. Here's your checklist: ✅ Ecological Footprint: Assess and minimize your environmental impact across operations, products, and supply chains. Seek innovative solutions to reduce your footprint and promote sustainability. ✅ Transparent Reporting: Share your sustainability progress openly. Engage stakeholders with clear and honest communication to build trust and foster accountability. ✅ Circular Economy: Embrace the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. Design products with durability, repairability, and recyclability in mind, fostering a circular economy. ✅ Social Responsibility: Prioritize the well-being of your employees, communities, and society. Create inclusive workplaces, support local initiatives, and contribute to social causes. ✅ Climate Action: Set ambitious carbon reduction targets and implement strategies to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Embrace renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices. ✅ Responsible Leadership: Lead by example and inspire others. Embed sustainability in your corporate culture, values, and decision-making processes. Advocate for policy changes that support a sustainable future. Patagonia shows us that sustainability is not a destination but a continuous journey of improvement. Together, let's follow in their footsteps and make a lasting impact for a better tomorrow. 🌱🌍💚 Remember, every small step counts. Join the movement, embrace sustainability, and become a catalyst for change. Together, we can shape a brighter and greener future for generations to come. 👏✨ #ESGSummitEurope #SustainabilityMatters #DrivingChangeTogether

Pre-Christmas must read. 🎄 This short essay has it all. And by who else but a symbol of sustainable business: founder of Patagonia 🌱 About how important the choice of us, the customers, is. But it's not all up to us. States play a very important role. So do companies. 🌱 It's not about a revolution that happens overnight. But there are areas where the impact of change is huge. Because the costs of low quality are too high. 🌍 https://lnkd.in/dYuFCMve #sustainability #responsibleconsumption #esg

Spring has sprung! 🌼 And to celebrate, today we attended the inaugural The Alnwick Garden Grow Business Club, hosted by the unstoppable Lauren St Hilaire. With a focus on sustainability and what that means for businesses large and small we heard from Kellogs about their journey to a more sustainable future (hello the new Pringles all cardboard packaging), as well as what Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei are doing to reduce their carbon footprint. The key takeaways: 🌳 Sustainable business practices are here to stay. Get on board or lose out to companies that are committed to driving sustainable change. 🌳 Making a start is better than doing nothing at all. You may not be the expert, but there are plenty of people and businesses out there who can help you with your sustainability efforts. 🌳 Energy use is the biggest factor in reducing carbon emissions. Even small businesses can play their part, armed with an energy bill, research and common sense. You could save the planet and your bills. 🌳 Beware of greenwashing. Be considerate about where you invest in environmental and sustainable schemes – in fact, talk to the Garden, who may be able to point you in the right direction. Thanks for an insightful morning, we got to meet some great individuals and businesses and we're looking forward to the next event on 18 April, focused on Wellbeing in the Workplace.
