Rishi you have been a diamond in the rough. Please don’t turn your back on politics. One of the best treasurers this country has ever seen. Your expertise will not go unnoticed. Thanks for making this country a stable economy duri g COVID and recently. We can only hope Labour continue the good work you set out to achieve.

I have no issue paying more tax because poor people can’t. I have every issue with paying more tax because rich people won’t.

You did your very best Rishi but it was an impossible task But thank you for all you did to try and save the Conservative Party

I agree with all the above. You were not given long enough. Stay close Rishi.

Get over it, tories raised the tax burden to the highest in 70 years. Your spending plans did that, not labours.

What people seem to forget is that the furlough scheme to stop massive job losses was not an ex-gratia payment. It was a loan that has to be paid back. The alternative was for employers to lay off staff and claim unemployment dole money which was nowhere near what they needed to carry on living. The loan had to be repaid. Loads of folk seem to have forgotten this. Furlough was not an ex-gratia payment. It was paid for by the government borrowing money that has to be repaid - through higher taxes. Wait till Labour are in and see how much they ramp up taxes for middle classes - anyone that has a cheque book and savings account. Rishi for sure was a guy for whom the job was a leap too far. The Conservative are fragmented. A period on opposition will enable them to clear out the riff-raff and coalesce around a common purpose they can and will sign up to. Rishi did not manage that.

I’m paying more in tax than I ever have under tories, as a life long Tory voter and one time donor. Not this time.
