📆 Just over two weeks are left in the new grant evaluation (Researchfish) window. The HRB recently changed how it captures outcomes and impacts that stem from its funded award portfolio. Formerly this information was collected at the end of the award. From this year, we are capturing it on an annual basis. The fist submission period, which runs for six weeks, opened on 24 January and closes on 11 March 2024. Vydehi Muppavarapu, Programme Manager for Monitoring and Evaluation explains: “Researchfish is a web-based platform designed to systematically track evaluation metrics in the form of output, outcome and impact data arising from HRB-funded awards.” Examples of these outputs and outcomes include: publications supported by the HRB award; further funding leveraged; new collaborations and partnerships established; impacts on policy and practice etc. “We would like to remind all principal investigators that the closing date for submissions, 1.00pm on 11 March, is fast approaching,” says Muppavarapu. “So far, the process seems to be working well and it’s taking approximately 40 to 45 minutes on average for people to submit their data.” More information about Researchfish is available from the HRB website at: https://lnkd.in/eHJ2w3Up

RCOP is back with the CDC Wonder Masterclass! This analysis has NEVER been taught in Pakistan before and has been designed by international big data experts through Dr Shahzeb’s collaboration. It is a completely new form of research that even the best doctors in the world are new to. Which means it will be a unique paper on your CV, and will automatically qualify for the kind of paper that attracts big journals and authors. All students will be added to groups after the workshop and mentors will guide them until PUBLICATION. The CDC Wonder database contains mortality data for millions of people, since 1999. In this workshop you will learn how to access and analyze this original US data. An example of such paper, published by RCOP mentor Dr Shahzeb is here: https://lnkd.in/daKq5kBk. This paper was among the top 10 papers of 2022 published by JAMA- you can recognize the importance and impact by this. The cost to attend is PKR 15,000 The class will be held on June 7, 8 and 9. All interested students can email their name and institute to researchcouncilofpakistan@gmail.com to register. PS: Level 1 is a pre-requisite to attend this workshop.
