The most ridiculous threat? You arise at 4 am to put the brisket on the smoker. The guests arrive at 4pm, and at 5pm the brisket is still not fork tender. You have to decide to serve the brisket a little chewy to satisfy hungry guests and disappoint the spouse and fans. Or wait 2 hours and hope it is tender enough at 7pm to please your brisket fans. No crutching allowed when you want that crunchy bark. So yeah the threat is unpredictable cuts of meat - nothing else comes close.

This won’t win because it’s not a joke, but someone just found a real security vulnerability in some popular grills. “Consequently, an attacker could leverage this finding to control another user’s grill and carry out sensitive operations such as changing the temperature during a cooking cycle.” Luckily, the fix is an OTA firmware update delivered automatically. https://bishopfox.com/blog/traeger-wifi-controller-advisory
