Healthy communities are the foundation for positive outcomes across our state. The Northern Roots food prescription program is a Presbyterian Community Health program that provides fresh, healthy produce to families in northern New Mexico. Northern Roots is a referral-based food pantry for patients and families with children age 18 and under. Through your donations, we are able to fund this program and others like it to help create positive, tangible impact for New Mexicans. ICYMI: After 54 years, the behavioral health gym at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital (PKH) is getting a much-needed makeover. Thanks to contributions to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, behavioral health patients will have additional opportunities to engage in the healing process through physical exercise and activities. “We're thrilled to have this space for our patients to heal, to exercise and just to have fun," said Kate McEvoy, nursing director for the Behavioral Health and Emergency Department at PKH. “This will truly enhance the patient experience." Philanthropy is key in driving positive impact for communities across New Mexico. We are excited and honored to see the newly renovated gym at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital open this week. This space, created for children and adult behavioral health patients, will play a large role in aiding recovery processes through physical and mental health connection and expression. This project would not have been possible without the generous gifts provided by Spirit Halloween and the estate of Mary Helen Allburt. Thank you to everyone involved that helped bring this amazing initiative to fruition. Most clinic providers will be in place this morning, and we are prepared to operate our Ruidoso clinics in an urgent care fashion, accepting walk-ins. Thank you to the entire team for your support and efforts to bring us back online!
