Wondering how UNICEF is responding to the #MentalHealth challenges facing young people today? Or how we can drive change, both in our communities and at a national level? During a recent conversation, UNICEF Ambassador Jeremy Lin, UNICEF Global Mental Health Lead Zeinab Hijazi and UNICEF Clubs mental health advocate Kripa covered these topics and more. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthMatters #OnMyMind

I mentioned a few days ago that we must keep talking about mental health — throughout Mental Health Awareness Month, yes, but also next month and the month after and indefinitely — until every young person has the support they need when they need it. If you explore the statistics below, you’ll learn that one of the most powerful factors for mental health conditions among children and adolescents is experiencing a life-threatening event, whether it’s a natural disaster, war or otherwise. In fact, more than 20% of young people affected by conflict are likely to experience a mental health condition. Think about that: 20%. One in five. Considering this, and the compounding wars and conflicts across the globe, it’s more important than ever that we prioritize mental health support at every age. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealth
