Conor McGregor reacts to winning $1.6 million bet on Nate Diaz: ‘The rich get richer!’

Even when McGregor is down and out, he just can’t seem to stop winning.

McGregor was forced to pull out of his big comeback fight on June 29th due to a broken toe, and there’s no indication that the UFC is in a rush to rebook him. That left McGregor in ‘deep mental pain’ during UFC 303 fight week.

But that was last week. This week the Mac is living his best life and making millions off sports bets.

McGregor made headlines when he announced he was putting $500,000 on former opponent Nate Diaz to beat Jorge Masvidal in their ‘Last Man Standing’ boxing bout. It was a risky bet given some of Nate’s recent performances, but Mystic Mac was convinced the Stockton fighter would ‘do Masvidal in easy.’

It wasn’t easy, but Diaz walked away with a majority decision win, netting “The Notorious” a cool $1.6 million. Nate had to think about it for a minute before telling the press what he thought of the situation.

“That’s cool,” he finally said with a wry smile. “Good job for us.”

“THE RICH GET RICHER!!! Well done Nate, congrats!” Conor declared on X (formerly Twitter). “I make ya so much money you can swim in it!”

He earmarked the sportsbook winnings for ‘Yacht fuel,’ and he may have more of that coming if Spain continues to win at the Euro 2024 tournament. McGregor put down $85,000 on his buddy Ronaldo’s team to win the whole thing. At +1100 odds, Mac would bank another million dollars. And then there’s his $350,000 bet on Argentina to win the Copa America, which would pay out ... yes, another million.

McGregor is currently relaxing on vacation with his fiancé Dee Devlin in Switzerland. New photos and videos have him enjoying the music at Montreux Jazz Festival, but don’t think he’s forgotten about training. Another video showed McGregor in the gym late Sunday night with the festival blaring less than 50 feet away.

“While they party, I work hard, yeah?” he declared. “Take your health serious, or take it somewhere else! That’s the motto. Irish strength. I got work to do, yeah. Millions today alone. Party’s out in the back garden, and where am I? Yeah. Still here. Afterhours. Open that gym up!”
