A Good Recruiter Must Have
Communication
Communication is the foundation of recruitment. A good recruiter must be able to communicate
clearly, listen actively, and effectively convey information to both candidates and clients.

Whether it’s with the recruiter, hiring manager or new hires, good recruiters focus on leveraging
connections and building new contacts that lend results in the long term. They are deepening their
connections from online platforms such as LinkedIn by making phone and in person contact.

Active listening is a communication skill that involves going beyond simply hearing the words that
another person speaks. It's about actively processing and seeking to understand the meaning and
intent behind them. It requires being a mindful and focused participant in the communication

There’s a reason that the industry tends to attract extroverts. Working as a recruiter involves a lot of
networking and interacting with a large number of people, so confidence is definitely beneficial. It’s
not only important for the recruiter to have confidence in themselves, but also in the skills that they
can offer a client and candidates.
