Apple reportedly plans to support Google Gemini in its Apple Intelligence, potentially giving consumers various options for AI models in its products.

Apple has responded to the current AI computing trend with Apple Intelligence, a multimodal, cross-platform approach. Nearly all Apple platforms and most recent Apple products will get it. Apple Intelligence is much more than just an enhanced Siri assistant. It also incorporates creative AI capabilities like writing and image production.

At the time, the business also revealed that it was collaborating with OpenAI to include ChatGPT in the service. Now, reports indicate that Apple may reveal a new partner for its Apple Intelligence initiative in the fall of 2024, as noted by Neowin.

If this turns out to be the case, all signs point to Google Gemini becoming Apple's new partner. This means that users of iOS and macOS will have the choice between three AI models, including ChatGPT and Siri.

Apple appears to be choosing collaboration over fighting in the ongoing AI warfare. Apple's decision to include competing models in its app is understandable, given that the tech giant was a little sluggish in announcing its AI tools at first.

Instead of being compelled to use what Apple wants, consumers can choose whatever models they want, which may encourage them to use Apple Intelligence, irrespective of which model they like.

Apple and Meta's Potential AI Deal

These rumors also follow claims that Apple and Meta may be preparing to launch a new partnership soon. The two tech behemoths are reportedly talking about adding another AI model to iOS 18.

It would mark the first time Apple and Meta worked together following turbulent years of tech rivalry, including Facebook's harsh criticism of the App Store commission.

This possible partnership is comparable to Apple's previous "talk" with OpenAI; although ChatGPT was first rumored, it never made it to the various Apple OS systems.

There are no firm plans at this point; both sides are just talking about the cooperation needed to add more AI models to Apple Intelligence.

It is still a mystery what specific AI models and advancements from Meta, whose most potent model so far is the Llama 3, which powers Meta, will make their way to Apple.

ChatGPT for Mac

All users can now download and install ChatGPT for Mac on their computers, a specialized program for handling the chatbot's demands.

With its widely accessible features and noteworthy technology, this new app promises to provide an integrated experience for all users, outperforming the features of the web version.

At its debut in May of last year, ChatGPT Plus Premium subscribers were the only ones who could download it. Its removal from the paid membership experience did, however, increase its user base, but there's still a catch: the macOS Sonoma operating system version.

Users need to update to either macOS 14 or macOS 14.5, Apple's most recent version. This version is compatible with Macs powered by Intel and M-series processors as long as they have Sonoma installed.
