Today, we celebrate #Juneteenth! 🎉 On this day in 1865, Union troops finally reached Galveston, Texas bringing news of the Emancipation Proclamation and freeing the last enslaved African Americans some two and a half years after it was signed by President Abraham Lincoln. Juneteenth has long been a significant celebration with the African American community, and in June 2021, legislation was signed officially recognizing it as a Federal Holiday, bringing its importance to the forefront for all Americans. This day marks a significant milestone in the fight for freedom and equality. At Chemtrade, we honor this historic day by reaffirming our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
