About us
North York General Hospital, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is one of Canada's leading community academic hospitals. We offer our culturally diverse community a wide range of acute care, ambulatory and long-term care services across multiple sites. Through partnerships, collaboration and academic endeavours, we seek to set new standards for patient- and family-centred care. Working together with our patients and their families, we are making a world of difference. We have proudly served our community since 1968. The area we primarily serve is north central Toronto and southern York Region. Our 5,000 staff, physicians and volunteers embrace the belief that patients and their families are at the heart of everything we do. North York General's major programs include Cancer Care, Child and Teen, Emergency Services, Family and Community Medicine, Genetics, Maternal Newborn, Medicine and Elder Care, Mental Health, and Surgery. They are supported by a number of departments including Medical Imaging, Laboratory Medicine and Pharmacy Services. A 192-bed long-term care home is located at the Seniors' Health Centre. North York General Hospital is a member of the Central Local Health Integration Network. With their support, our hospital continues to build on its strength as a caring and innovative partner in health care for the region we serve.
