Encouraged to learn that #Cholera vaccines from the @Gavi-funded global vaccine stockpile will soon arrive in Nigeria to help curb the country’s deadly and ongoing outbreak. We stand ready to work with our partners UNICEF and World Health Organization to support the Ministry of Health’s timely efforts to contain this outbreak and protect those at highest risk. Despite the large number of cholera outbreaks this year, our stockpile is now fully replenished, and production continues at maximum capacity. We hope to keep supporting cholera affected countries with their control plans. #stopcholera

Good news: in partnership with UNICEF and World Health Organization, we have allocated nearly 200 million doses of essential vaccines to 35 lower-income countries to reach millions of children who missed out on vaccines during the #COVID19 pandemic: This allocation follows a Gavi Board decision in December 2023 to approve US$290 million funding for the #BigCatchUp initiative. “Lower-income countries made unprecedented efforts to vaccinate their populations during the C-19 pandemic, but this emergency response strained their health systems. Now, our priority is twofold: help countries regain lost ground in routine immunisation coverage and build more resilient vaccination programs for the future” - Thabani Maphosa.

We're delighted that the Government of Côte d’Ivoire has committed to fully finance its routine immunisation programme over the next five years to ensure sustainability beyond Gavi support: In preparation for Côte d’Ivoire’s full transition in 2030, we will contribute over US$ 100 million with a focus on increasing vaccination coverage and reaching missed children. #VaccinesWork
